This past weekend our mobile coffee van partners at Astro Coffee received honorable mention in the World Cold Brew Competition and used our Ethiopian Yirgacheffe as the base coffee. What you'll need: 12oz bag of our Ethiopian Yirchacheffe 8 cups of water Toddy Home Cold Brew System (You can also use a large mason jar as long as you have a way to filter your grounds. A cheese cloth will work, but you'll wind up with quite a bit of fines and sediment in your brew) Burr Grinder Colander Ice Recipe: Begin by grinding your 12oz of Ethiopian Yirgacheffe coffee on the coarsest setting on your grinder. For years we've been asked this very question. Folks always say, "wouldn't it just be easier if you delivered by car?". The real answer to that question is YES. Of course it would be much easier if we delivered by car. But, would it be the better way to do it? We think not! From the inception of The Coffee Ride, we've been dead set on proving that there is a better way of doing business that cares equally as much about it's customers and products produced, as it does the environment. We developed a packaging solution for our local deliveries where everything that our customers receive is compostable. All our coffees are top notch specialty grade sourced...
FORGET EVERYTHING YOU PREVIOUSLY THOUGHT ABOUT INSTANT COFFEE. Don't be fool ya'll. This isn't your grandparent's instant coffee. As coffee professionals, being stuck without quality coffee is an absolute nightmare, a total stress, and if you're looking at this now; we bet you feel the same way too. For years the only solution was to bring all the coffee gear and your own beans, which was a complete pain and usually ended up in a total mess.... Until now! We took our best selling coffee that's chalked full of chocolate notes with a clean citrus finish, and turned it into a coffee that is so easy to brew, you can practically make it anywhere. Mix a packet/sachet with 10-12oz HOT/COLD water, HOT/COLD milk, hot cocoa or anything else you like! Whiskey? Totally approved! ...

We've heard all kinds of theories and interpretations about tasting notes across the coffee and think there need to be a bit of clarification on how we do it here at The Coffee Ride. Some folks think that the tasting notes are actual flavors added to the coffees to make them taste that way. We've also heard others get frustrated that they can't make their coffee at home taste exactly like the tasting notes on the coffee labels. Let's debunk some of these right here and right now :) ... While some coffee's on the grocery store shelves do have added oils to make them taste a certain way (think "IRISH CREAM + HAZELNUT"), we do not. We purchase extremely high end coffees that we're able to roast in certain ways to highlight...
What elevates our blends above the rest? ...and what exactly is everyone else doing? Imagine yourself sitting in a 5 star restaurant, that you've been dreaming of visiting for years, and ordering off a menu that is so fancy it doesn't even have prices on it. You order an outrageously expensive cut of meat that you've heard was their specialty and a must try. Upon receiving your much anticipated plate of food, you see that next to your main entree looks like some inexpensive store bought sides that lack both color and flavor; and possibly could have been sitting in the refrigerator for the last week . You'd be extremely disappointed about this situation right? Similar to the situation above, the dirty little secret in the coffee world is that some folks...
